About Szymon Pajka

I am a Lead Web Developer and Design System Engineer at Motorway — UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace. I joined Motorway in 2019, and since then, I have been leading the development of the company’s most impactful products, including Motorway Pro and Motorway Pay.

I architect, build and implement web applications used by millions of customers monthly. I have worked with a diverse range of companies, from pre-seed startups and software houses to Unicorns. With nearly two decades since launching my first website at the age of 9, I have accumulated a wealth of experience in web development, design systems, performance, scalability, accessibility and leadership.

I have a good eye for industry trends, allowing me to select optimal tools and technologies for each project. My current tech stack includes tools such as Raycast, Astro, NextJS, Zed, Radix UI, bun, vlt, vite, zod, msw, Storybook, Chromatic, Cloudflare, Warp, Excalidraw, Utopia, Perplexity, Claude.

I am known for being patient, reliable, humble, and approachable, as well as for my mentoring and upskilling abilities and guiding teams in making informed technical decisions.

I live in London, I am a home barista (ask my wife!) and I happily nerd out about coffee, design systems, and web development.
